
With the acquisition of Snap, Xoom and other online properties and technology, NBC & General Electric were poised to compete in the highly competitive portal market. In highly accelerated fashion, NBCi became the 6th most visited web site on the Internet. With their sights on Yahoo, AOL and MSN, they realized in part, that the current design would not get them to their goals.
CEO Will Lancing, and EVP of product, Shawn Harden were extremely intrigued by the highly successful redesign of AltaVista's site. We were immediately employed to completely overhaul the company's entire online experience. After exhaustive usability and information architecture studies, design commenced. In a record 90 days, the site design was complete! This included the entire NBCi affiliate and partner designs.
